5 Aldermanbury Sq
London EC2
Multi award winning redevelopment scheme
Overview
5 Aldermanbury Square is a high quality redevelopment, replacing the existing 1960’s tower with a 21-storey stainless steel clad building, doubling the existing floor area and creating a new public realm and place in the City.
Highlights
The Brief was to obtain a commercially viable planning consent for the redevelopment of the existing tower and podium. A very challenging process set against an adjacent listed building and St Paul’s views and involved extensive stakeholder engagement including the Barbican Residents Association.
The structural sandwich was improved through interrogation to enable an entire floor to be added without materially affecting the overall height and mass.
Scope
- Full DM service from inception to completion
- Extensive involvement in the tenant lettings and approval to works
